TOMATO BIRYANI| TOMATO RICE | TOMATO BIRYANI WITHOUT COOKER
Tomato biryani is a good lunch recipe. Best side dish is onion raita , puthina thuvayal.Biryani is the favourite food for many. For them it is the good choice. I prepare this in a healthy manner, mainly not in cooker. If you wish you can do this in cooker. Taste will not change. I fully done this with homemade ingredients. You also try this . I had not used any purchased powder.
Ingredients:
- Onion - 2 big size
- Normal Rice - 3 cup(ponni)
- Onion - 2 big size
- Tomato - 8 big size (2 cup)
- Ginger. - 3 tbsp
- Garlic - 12 cloves
- Green chilli - 3
- Red chilli - 6
- Small onion - 10
- Cinnamon - 1
- Cloves - 4
- Bay leaves - 2
- Cardamom - 2
- Star anise - 1
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Hand of coriander and mint leaves
- Ghee - 3 tbsp
- Oil. - 1/4 cup
- Salt as required.
- Water. - 8 cup.
Method:
- Grind ginger,garlic,small onion,green chilli,red chilli, few coriander and mint leaves into fine paste.
- Heat the vessel with heavy bottom. add ghee,oil, now add the spices one by one. (Cinnamon,clove,cardamom, bay leaves, star anise)
- Add sliced onion and cook until it becomes golden brown, now add that paste and stir until it's raw smell goes.
- Now add turmeric, sliced tomato, salt and cook until tomato get mashed.
- Now add water and after it get to boiling stage add rice and cover until water dries up.
- After that in low flame keep it for 5 min and stir occasionally. Now tasty tomato rice is ready.
- Enjoy it with onion raita
