Today I have made simple, quick and spicy fresh pachai SUNDAKKAI kuzhambu. Usually, during rainy season, we like to have spicy dishes, but don't wish to cook for long time. At that time , this will be your best choice. 

I too done this , in that rainy season only. In my 2 burner gas stove, I made this curry on one side and rice on another one. So, I did my whole work within 20 min. For side dish I done boiled egg.

I simply done this only for 3 to 4 member. You increase or decrease , according to your family members. I used homemade KUZHAMBU powder, if you are not having this add turmeric, chilli powder and coriander powder.

PACHAI SUNDAKKAI PULI KUZHAMBU| FRESH TURKEY BERRY TAMARIND CURRY

Ingredients:

  • Pachai sundakkai - 1 hand full
  • Shallots                   - 15 to 20
  • Garlic                      - 10 cloves
  • Tomato                   - 1
  • Tamarind.              - 1 lemon size.
  • Kuzhambu powder - 2 to 2.5 tbsp
  • Salt, gingelly oil,curry leaves as required.
  • Mustard Seed        - 1/4 tsp
  • Fenugreek.             - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin                     - 1/4 tsp

DIRECTIONS:

  1. First soak tamarind and start the other process as below.

  2. Take aside shallots, garlic and tomato as shown.

  3. Crush sundakkai as shown.

  4. Now take the juice of tamarind, add kuzhambu powder and required Salt and keep it aside.

  5. Now heat the pan, add Mustard and Fenugreek. After it splits, add onion, garlic and fry slightly. Add TURKEY BERRY along this and stir well.

  6. After colour of Turkey berry changes , add tomato and cook until it get mashed well .

  7. After it get mashed add the tamarind juice mixture and cook it 10 min, by covering it with lid.

  8. After 10 min , cook it in low flame for 1 minute, and turn off.

  9. Finally transfer it to a serving bowl, and add 1 tbsp gingelly oil at last.

  10. Now tasty curry is ready. Enjoy this along with steam rice and boiled egg or appalam.
